Snoring is the noise from the vibration of the loose tissues at the back of your throat. These tissues vibrate because they obstruct the air passage during sleeping. Snoring has become a universal problem, affecting people of both sexes. As men’s necks are larger than women’s, however, they are more likely to snore. This problem also highly prevalent in people who are overweight. Research shows that snoring gets worse with the developing age. If the problem is serious, then a doctor should be consulted, but often there are minor adjustments that can be made at home that will help.

Home remedies for snoring

1. Changing your sleeping position

Sleeping on your back makes your tongue slide downwards and restrict the passage of air. You should refrain from sleeping on your back, and make a habit of sleeping on your side to prevent snoring.

2. Reducing weight

Losing weight will help you cure snoring by reducing the fatty tissue which is present in your airways. Excess tissue is what causes obstruction, and the vibration of those tissues known as snoring. If you are able to reduce your weight by ten percent, you may be able to end snoring.

3. Avoiding drugs and alcohol

Avoiding alcohol before sleeping could help with a snoring problem. Alcohol is a muscle relaxant which causes the throat muscles to relax while seeping and narrow the airway. Research shows you may be able to totally end your snoring if you loose ten percent of your body weight.

4.Proper diet

You should try to get a proper diet to prevent snoring. Particularly, you should avoid milk products and high calorie products in order to avoid mucus accumulating in your throat which causes snoring.

5.Steam inhalation.

This clears your nasal congestion which helps you to cure snoring. Nasal congestion obstructs the airflow, leading to vibration creating noisy breathing. Steam inhalation with essential oils can also cure snoring.

6. Wrist bands

Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes before or after rinsing to have maximum effect.
